Capacity Building Grant Cycle Opens

Monday, June 2, 2014:

The Ausherman Family Foundation is accepting Letters of Inquiry for Capacity Building Grants.  To be considered for funding, interested organizations should submit Letter of Inquiry online by 5:00 pm on July 14, 2014. Only grants submitted on line will be accepted.

The Capacity Building Grant Program assists organizations that have been designed as 501(c) non-profits by the Internal Revenue Service, are located in Frederick County, Maryland and serve Frederick County residents. Staff and board members must be committed to growing the organization’s capacity to reach new levels of effectiveness. Organizations must have a healthy operating budget, as well as a strong board and executive leadership. A clearly defined mission statement and the commitment of time and resources to build capacity must be in place.

Capacity Grant funding is capped at $25,000.

The Foundation’s Capacity Building Grant Program provides funding for a consultant who will help the organization grow in any of the following areas:

  • Strategic planning
  • Organizational assessment
  • Leadership development
  • Financial systems improvement
  • Program evaluation
  • Communications and marketing review
  • Fundraising enhancements
  • Technology assessments
