Dr. Rachel Mandel

The Trauma Responsive Frederick (TRF) network was formed by human service providers to address the need for healing in Frederick County as the level of trauma significantly increased as a result of the pandemic. The group found it would be essential for them to determine a vision, mission, goals, and add structure to the network to move forward effectively. Ausherman Family Foundation engaged Dr. Rachel Mandel to provide framework for TRF.  She will support and assist the network participants as well as help work groups progress effectively and efficiently to achieve the strategic goal.

Vision:  With a focus on healing, Frederick County becomes a trauma responsive community where people are informed, engaged, and proactive in meeting the needs of all individuals.

Mission: To use our passion and expertise to guide the Frederick County community in becoming trauma responsive through education, partnership, and advocacy. Be a catalyst that unites by being a trusted source of information, resources, educational opportunities and solutions.  Be a convener of diverse sectors  to establish a shared understanding of the causes of personal trauma, collective trauma  and toxic stress. Serve as a facilitator for collaborative efforts to  reduce trauma’s  prevalence and impact by supporting healing and building resilience.

Stay tuned for more information as Trauma Response Frederick launches a website and Facebook account. We are looking forward to the critical work this group will achieve!
