The Seton Center is located in Emmitsburg and provides vital services in the northern part of the County by preventing hunger and homelessness, providing assistance for basic needs such as utilities, food, and clothing, and actively engaging clients to work towards greater self-sufficiency. Through a program offered by the Seton Center, clients are able to create a healthy financial plan for themselves while receiving assistance. This financial plan ensures that the family or individual has a budget and a way to move forward.
Volunteers at the Seton Center help with a variety of services and initiatives throughout the year. Last year, during the holidays, the Seton Center provided gift cards from Food Lion, Weis, and Jubilee to 72 families at Thanksgiving and 107 families at Christmas. Additionally, the Seton Center operates a food bank year-round, ensuring families receive essential food supplies not just during the holidays. The Seton Center plans to continue these services and aims to expand its programs and connect with other local organizations. The Ausherman Family Foundation is proud to support the Seton Center’s operations with a $30,000 Single-Year Grant.
