On Thursday, April 25, a community meeting was hosted by the Downtown Frederick Partnership and held at the Bernard W Brown Community Center to gain feedback from the community regarding the new Seventh Street Fountain Park.

During the workshop, a final draft of ideas to improve the park was presented by consultants from Mahan Rykiel Associates, Inc. — a full-service landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm. The draft designs  were made possible by funding fro the Ausherman Family Foundation. The Ausherman Family Foundation will also match up to $250,000 for every dollar that the city contributes, which would allow completion of the renovations to the park around the fountain.

The majority of residents who attended the meeting were in favor of the proposed renovations, with some noting how exciting it is to see the city willing to invest in the project.
