Habitat for Humanity Receives Funding for Operational Growth

Ausherman Family Foundation recently presented Habitat for Humanity with a $35,000 General Grant to support operations as the organization experiences rapid growth and large upcoming projects. In 2020, Habitat for Humanity will transfer their focus from stand-alone single family homes to multi-unit builds. This will allow them to serve more residents and provide families with affordable home ownership.

The first project is an innovative cottage park in Thurmont including 4 – 6 small housing units breaking ground in 2020.  Habitat is also set to acquire a downtown Frederick property to be developed into 12 housing units in multiple sizes in 2021.
