COVID-19 Philanthropic Funders Collaborative Surpasses $1 million in Emergency Grants to Local Nonprofits

Grant funds support over 65 local organizations and their work in Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md. — The COVID-19 Philanthropic Funders Collaborative (COVID Collaborative) of Ausherman Family Foundation, Community Foundation of Frederick County, Delaplaine Foundation, The Kahlert Foundation, Helen J. Serini Foundation, United Way of Frederick County and Women’s Giving Circle have released a remarkable $1,127,785 in funding to meet the immediate needs of nonprofit organizations serving individuals and families adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis and its aftermath.

Through a collaborative approach, philanthropic funders are coordinating funding efforts to ensure that funds are going to areas of greatest need. Thus far, over 65 nonprofit organizations in Frederick County have received emergency support from the COVID Collaborative. Additional is available for grants in the coming weeks.

Individuals in the community are encouraged to participate in the Collaborative by giving to the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Campaign. Gifts can be made by going to www.uwfrederick.org/COVIDRelief.
