The Ausherman Family Foundation is currently working with the following foundations, grantmakers, and other philanthropists with the common goal of making a positive impact on a community or societal need:
Nonprofit Summit
The Ausherman Family Foundation recently partnered with The Community Foundation of Frederick County and Volunteer Frederick to bring the first annual Nonprofit Summit to area agencies. This full day of capacity building workshops brought nonprofit staff and board members together to learn about diverse topics including volunteer management, fund development, and board development. The event was well received by the community, with 160 people in attendance. Due to our partnership approach to this event we were able to find and obtain quality presenters at an affordable cost for nonprofits. Ninety eight percent of attendees reported that "the speaker's knowledge of the subject was excellent or very good."
Grant Seeker's Resource Center
The Ausherman Family Foundation has also partnered with the Frederick County Public Library to bring reference and circulating materials to nonprofit staff in general and fundraisers in particular. Grant seekers have the opportunity to search the most comprehensive electronic collections of grant makers and grants available through two Foundation Center databases: Foundation Directory Online Professional and Foundation Grants to Individuals Online. Also available are print resources such as Grassroots Grants: An Activist's Guide to Grant Seeking and Nonprofit Board Answer Book: Practical Guidelines for Board Members and Chief Executives.
