01.21.2013 The Frederick Speaker Series

Frederick is hosting top notch speakers, according to Shaun Butcher. Read his article in Find It Frederick and learn when Cal Ripkin, Jr., Gen. Colin Powell, Terry Gross, and Dr. Andrew Weil will be on the Weinberg stage. Speaker Series, such as The Frederick Speaker Series, usually happen only in larger cities, a situation Marvin and Lisa Ausherman set out to change. Don't miss your chance for a big city experience in our own backyard.

11.02.2012 Frederick Speaker Series Launches

The event series launches with an auspicious roster of speakers scheduled to appear at the Weinberg Center for the Arts including

In addition to the speaking engagements, a separately ticketed meet-and-greet reception will take place immediately following the on-stage presentation. These exclusive events provide a chance for fans to meet the speakers, have books authored by the speakers signed, and more. 100% of the proceeds from these after-event fundraising receptions will benefit children's programs and Frederick County Public Libraries.

Frederick Memorial Hospital Prenatal Clinic Receives Ausherman Family Trust Grant

Recently, the Ausherman Family Trust awarded the FMH Auxiliary Prenatal Center with a check for $50,000 marking the completion of the Trust's two year challenge grant.

In October 2010, the Ausherman Family Trust awarded the FMH Auxiliary Prenatal Center with a two year challenge grant to help ensure that underinsured/uninsured women in Frederick County receive comprehensive prenatal services regardless of insurance status or cultural barriers. For each year of the challenge grant, the Ausherman Family Trust agreed to match donations up to $50,000 for a potential of $200,000 generated to this vital service for our community. Thanks to the generous support of the Frederick community and the Ausherman Family Trust, a total of $217,100 was raised to help the Center care for underinsured/uninsured pregnant women in our community.
